Hydraulic pump

The hydraulic pump is coupled to the engine. It ensures circulation of the DVC™ fluid through the system and pressurizes the inner chamber of the left hand or right hand cylinder.

When driving in a straight line (i.e. no forces on the steering wheel), the hydraulic pump ensures a continuous DVC™ fluid circulation at low pressure. Depending on the steering input, i.e. the force with which the driver turns the steering wheel, the pump generates an over-pressure of up to 100 bar in either the left had or the right hand cylinder. The greater the force, the greater the pressure. This pressurization occurs in a split second, ensuring an extremely responsive system.
